Aerophonic Rooting and Drying Greenhouse Introduction Event
Some of the products produced in our country are wasted without participating in the consumption chain. In order to prevent this situation, different preservation methods are applied to fruits and vegetables. Among these methods, the drying process is at the forefront as it is economical and easy to apply. With the drying process, the water contained in the fruits and vegetables is removed and they have a longer shelf life. In addition, the smaller size of the products makes it easier to store. The drying process was explained in detail to our participants in our greenhouse and the products to be collected on the drying wires were collected together with our participants and sorting processes were carried out. In this event, all of our participants participated in the product collection event and learned the process by experiencing it closely. Information was given about the packaging of our dried products and their contribution to the economy. In the aeroponic rooting unit in our greenhouse, soilless method is used for the propagation of plants. The biggest advantage is that a high amount of plants can be taken from the unit area. This method received high attention by our participants, and all stages were explained to our participants in detail. Since the layered system can be used in this method, it has been stated that approximately 5 times more plants can be taken from the unit area.
The “Our Future: Useful Recovery” project presents the ecosystem of circularity and explains how actors collaborate and share knowledge on the circular economy. The project studies recycling options, innovative food waste solutions, and household and commercial garbage disposal into liquid organic fertiliser.
